RIP Ira Marvin

Marvin, Ira January 22, 1929 - September 1, 2012 Ira Marvin, age 83, died on Saturday, September 1st at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood CA. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan DeMarrais Marvin, brother, Woody Satz, children, Carey Marvin, Greg Marvin, Laura Marvin Smith, and David Marvin as well as nine grandchildren, Spencer Ward-Marvin, Lois Ward-Marvin, Sophie Marvin, Johannah Marvin, Katelyn Smith, Tyler Smith, Matthew Marvin, Nicholas Marvin, and Lucas Marvin. Ira resided in New York and vacationed on Fire Island for many years before moving to the Los Angeles area. He was an avid fisherman. Ira had a long and successful career as a cinematographer and film producer with many productions to his credit including "Terms of Endearment", "Splash", "Ironclads", "The Jacksons an American Dream", and "Geronimo" among many others. He also served as Vice President of the Directors Guild of America. There will be a service in Marina Del Rey, CA. and a service in the Spring in Ocean Beach, Fire Island, NY..
